You will have to be quick if you fancy this lovely Mk1 RS2000, its currently on Car and Classic for auction. It is is really good condition and looks great in Stardust Silver metallic paint with bright blue stripes.
Due to the age of the car, it is MOT exempt and as such the vendor advises will not come with an MOT. As the current registration of ZV7611 would suggest, this car has lived in Southern Ireland. Looking at our checks, the car was imported to Ireland in November of 2004. Prior to being registered in Ireland, the registration of the car was SAT306N. From what we can see using Cazana checks as well as an Ireland-based AA check, the car has had two owners. The car is not currently registered in the UK and will need to be correctly imported, the current Registration Certificate is ROI issued.
Everything on the inside of this RS2000 is as you would expect to find it. The six-clock dash is present and correct, and is in good condition with only the slightest hint of any age. All the dials within the dash are bright and clear, and all function as they should. The dash-top is also in good condition, and free from any warping or cracking – a rare find indeed, and evidence that this Escort has spent a lot of time inside.
Lower down in the cabin, the carpet all looks to be original, and is all in more than presentable condition. The kick plates are good, too. As are all the black vinyl door cards and fitted door furniture. The painted sections of the doors are all clean and free of any damage. Finally, this car has the rare centre column under the dash, which is often cracked and damaged. However, in this case, it’s in remarkable condition complete with clock.
The seats are all in wonderful order, with no damage, no wear and no rips. It looks like it could well be original trim, but this is for the buyer to decide. What is evident is that it’s in excellent condition, with no sagging and as such, is wonderfully comfortable. The same can be said of the rear bench, which looks to have had very little use over the years.
There are lots more photos over on CarandClassic where you can also have a bid!
